Urine Specimen Collection (USC)
This full-day class is designed to be comprehensive and provide instruction and resources for the collector to perform Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated collections and to do Drug-Free Workplace split specimens collections. Students will be trained in the proper procedures for urine specimen collection, handling and transfer to ensure error-free, challenge-proof DOT specimen collections. The collector is key to the success of any drug-testing program. He/she is the one with whom all donors will have direct, face-to-face contact. Without the collector assuring the integrity of the specimen and collection process, the test itself cannot be valid. Without the sensitivity to an individual's privacy, the entire testing program is subject to criticism. It is imperative that all collectors fully understand and follow the DOT procedures. Breath Alcohol Technician Training
Upon successful completion of this full-day class, the student will be trained and certified as a BAT (Breath Alcohol Technician) to conduct breath alcohol tests in accordance with the U.S. Department of Transportation Procedures for Transportation Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs. Students will be able to explain EBT methodology, operation and calibrations, describe breath analysis for alcohol content, demonstrate the procedures for obtaining a breath sample and interpreting and recording EBT results, and demonstrate proficiency in operating the EBT.
